MMA DFS and Betting Breakdown: UFC Fight Night - Tsarukyan vs. Hooker

Since the advent of the UFC Apex Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, the UFC has been content to warehouse many of their fight night events in front of small crowds. For this fight night, the UFC is going international, and they’re making their first appearance as a promotion in Qatar. The card will feature a number of popular regional talents, 6 UFC debutants, and the return of former UFC title challenger Kyoji Horiguchi (7-1 UFC).

MMA DFS and Betting Breakdown: UFC Fight Night – Tsarukyan vs. Hooker
Denzel Freeman ($8,600) vs. Marek Bujlo ($7,600)
Fight Odds: -215 Freeman vs. +172 Bujlo
Weight Class: 265lb. (Heavyweight)
Denzel Freeman (UFC Debut) has some vulnerabilities in his game that will be exposed when he steps up in competition, but I am not sure that is what he is getting here. Marek Bujlo (UFC Debut) has never fought a quality opponent, he has never been out of the first round, and he likes to wrestle from positions where Freeman (on paper) should have a big advantage as a Greco-Roman wrestling standout. Bujlo is a competition black belt with much more footage on the grappling mats than inside the MMA cage. Freeman has been fighting for credible organizations like PFL, LFA, and to a lesser extent, Titan FC.
This is an entry-level heavyweight fight, so some level of variance can be expected, but Freeman looks like the better athlete, the more likely party to end up in top position, and he is the much more proven MMA fighter. Freeman has already fought and defeated other proximal UFC-level talents like Steven Asplund (1-0 DWCS) via submission and Hugo Cunha (0-1 DWCS) via ground and pound TKO. Freeman’s only loss as a professional was a split decision against Isaiah Pinson (2-0 PFL), and his only loss as an amateur was against Johnny Eblen (now 16-1 pro).
I like Freeman either secure takedowns or stuff takedowns and test the cardio of his opponent.
Prediction: Denzel Freeman defeats Marek Bujlo via Stoppage (or Bujlo via SUB)
Nurullo Aliev ($9,200) vs. Shem Rock ($7,000)
