The UFC hasn’t been in Macau since Michael Bisping did battle with Cung Le in the UFC main event all the way back in August of 2014. Now, 10 years later, the Octagon is back in Macau for an incredible bantamweight showcase between former UFC Bantamweight Champion Petr “No Mercy” Yan and former UFC Flyweight Champion Deiveson “Deus da Guerra” Figueiredo in a 5-round main event. The card will also feature the return of China’s own Yan Xiaonan in the co-main event, fresh off a title fight defeat at the hands of Zhang Weili at UFC 300.

MMA DFS and Betting Breakdown: UFC Macau – Yan vs. Figueiredo
Zhang Mingyang ($9,100) vs. Ozzy Diaz ($7,100)
Fight Odds: -330 Mingyang vs. +265 Diaz
Weight Class: 205lb. (Light Heavyweight)
Zhang Mingyang doesn’t have a style that will reliably cover big favorite price tags, but his power and willingness to throw make it hard for an opponent to cover a big price tag against him. Mingyang is a berserker with the ability to shut someone’s lights off quickly.
Ozzy Diaz failed to earn a contract on the Contender Series against Joe Pyfer and was stopped by strikes in the second round. Since then, he has left the middleweight division and rattled off two nice wins against Bevon Lewis and Chuck Campbell at light heavyweight.
Diaz looked like a decent athlete for the middleweight division, but his body composition appears weaker at light heavyweight, while his opponent looks like a science experiment. If Diaz doesn’t force the grappling or chin Mingyang, I trust the power and durability more for the Chinese athlete, and I like the context of competing at home against a UFC debutant.
Prediction: Zhang Mingyang defeats Ozzy Diaz via KO1
