MMA DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for UFC 305 – Du Plessis vs. Adesanya
What are your thoughts about stacking the 5-round fight in cash games?
Moneyball16: This might seem like an obvious stack with a roughly 50/50 fight that is around 45% to go the full 5 rounds. Despite that, I think you can go either way with Adesanya in cash. He is a great fighter, but he comes with only 1 takedown in his 292 UFC career minutes. Despite a ton of 5-round fights, he does not put up great DFS scores.
h3budda: There are not a lot of ways to go on this slate. I would probably stack the main event and move on. You are looking at -110 over 4.5 rounds of action in this fight, which is a nice floor for a slate without much value.

Bward586: I will probably go that way, but I don’t think it’s an absolute must. Adesanya’s style isn’t very conducive to fantasy scoring either for him or his opponents, with just under 4 significant strikes landed per minute and just over 3 absorbed. Du Plessis will need knockdowns or takedowns for a big score, while Adesanya has little interest in the latter. It’s not a bad fight to stack, as the floor on both fighters is reasonable, but it likely won’t make or break your week if you avoid it.
LiamPicksFights: The fight has some elements that would draw people into stacking, including the potential for both fighters to land 100+ significant strikes in a 5-round contest. Both fighters carry a solid amount of power, but Du Plessis is the fighter much more likely to get takedowns and control time, and he has produced 100+ point fantasy scores in 6 of 7 UFC fights. I prefer picking a side.
Which fight are you most likely to avoid and why?

About the Author
Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
