MMA DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for UFC 308 – Topuria vs. Holloway

Who is your favorite fighter to spend up for in cash games?

SquirrelPatrol: Topuria
h3budda: Topuria
Moneyball16: Topuria
Bward586: Topuria

What are your thoughts about stacking the 5-round fights in cash games?

SquirrelPatrol: I would absolutely stack the Topuria/Holloway fight. Topuria is the favorite and has 94+ DK points in 6 of his 7 UFC fights, while Holloway pushes one of the best paces in the UFC and has 100+ significant strikes in 12 of his past 13 fights (4 of which were losses). I’ll take Chimaev from the other 5-round fight, but Whittaker isn’t necessary.

h3budda: There are two 5-round fights on this slate, and both are expected to be finished inside the distance. Holloway/Topuria are mortal locks to be a cash stack; I would be shocked if they don’t go to war, exchanging hundreds of significant strikes. The other fight is tricky. Chimaev is an early finisher and typically looks to get his opponent out of there early. If Robert can stop the takedowns and survive, he will be a good play.

Moneyball16: Topuria, Chimaev, and Holloway are the three best cash plays on the slate, and Whittaker is a complete cash stay-away. Max Holloway has a long history of good 5-round cash stack fights, so it’s easy-peasy. With Whittaker, there is just too much of a chance that he puts up nearly 0 fantasy points to play him in cash. Chimaev comes out strong, and he can dominate on the mat, both things that lead to small scores for his opponents.

Bward586: The main event is -145 to at least start Round 4. These are two high-volume fighters who both score very well on a per-minute basis. That’s a fairly no-brainer stack, as both should have strong floors. The co-main event is favored to end in less than 2.5 rounds and is a fairly binary fight. The likeliest outcomes are an early Chimaev finish or Whittaker taking over late. Neither scenario gives the loser much of a floor, so it’s certainly not a great stack. At cost, I prefer Whittaker, but Chimaev has a much higher ceiling. Neither should be considered cash game priorities.

Which fight are you most likely to avoid and why?
