MMA DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for UFC Fight Night – Namajunas vs. Cortez
What are your thoughts about stacking the 5-round fight in cash games?
eys819: I would definitely stack this one, as it is a heavy favorite to last the full five rounds. Value is difficult to find on this slate, making the floor of Cortez for just $7,200 a great cash game play. Namajunas may not have the highest upside on the slate, but she does have an excellent floor that is valuable for cash games.
Moneyball16: This one is an easy stack. It has very high odds to go the full 5 rounds, with oddsmakers projecting that to happen around 67% of the time. That would provide a great floor for any cash lineup.
h3budda: This is a tricky slate where I think you are forced to play the stack. The fight is -260 to go to a decision, which means you are likely locking in 5 rounds of striking for both. There are concerns that Tracy getting her wrestling going will limit Rose’s offense. Even still, there should be scrambles and more.
SquirrelPatrol: I would definitely stack the 5-round fight in cash games. The fight is heavily favored (-260) to go the full five rounds, so you’ll be getting the extra points from both fighters if that comes to fruition. The striking volume should be there in this one, and we may see some takedowns from Cortez as well.
Bward586: I’m strongly considering fading the favored Namajunas here, as I think we can utilize the salary better elsewhere. She’s been fairly underwhelming over the last few fights, with her only win against a fellow former strawweight. Her best plan here is to try to make this a long, boring fight and exploit the cardio edge over Cortez — who’s stepping in on short notice — which makes it hard to pay off her salary. I’ll certainly roster Cortez, though; at her price tag, making it the distance should be enough.

That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
