What are your thoughts about stacking the 5-round fight in cash games?
h3budda: Unless I am targeting some of the women underdogs, I am firmly stacking this fight for the +120 odds that this fight goes to a decision. I expect this fight to be competitive, which will give you a nice floor. Buckley could get the finish early so if you want to go with either Maverick/Demopoulos, you could be silly to ignore his equity.
Moneyball16: Normally, this would be a good fight to stack, but I think I am only going to play Usman. If you play Buckley, it limits your ability to pay up for the most expensive fighters who are strong cash plays due to their gigantic win odds. Also, Usman, while no longer in his prime, has historically been hard to score against.
Bward586: Buckley’s big DFS scores have come when he mixes in wrestling, but I’m not sure that will be an option against Usman. Usman is the more active fighter in general, and with the salary difference, I can see a case for just playing Usman. I’d like to also have Buckley in my cash lineups, but if I can get up to an extra fighter from the Wellmaker/Abdul-Malik/Sy/Bellato price range, I’d rather have one of them.
LiamPicksFights: I don’t love the idea of stacking this main event because the two paths to victory that seem high scoring are contradictory. Either Buckley is able to KO Usman early and put up a big score, or the fight could be an Usman grind where control time cancels out striking volume. Picking a side will likely be crucial, but it’s hard for me to envision a stack paying off at a high clip.

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
