What are your thoughts about stacking the 5-round fights in cash games?
h3budda: There are two great 5-round title fights on this slate. I am looking at the flyweight fight right away for a stack due to the high pace. Kara-France will need to stop some takedowns to get some scoring going. I like the -135 “fight starts 5th round” prop for safety in that spot. Topuria is the next click because of his strong moneyline and inside-the-distance prop. Charles will be difficult to click due to his questionable durability and potential to get starched here.
Moneyball16: I think the Pantoja/Kara-France fight is a relatively easy stack. Either fighter could win; it is almost a coin flip to go the full 5 rounds, and the pace should be pretty good. The Topuria/Oliveira fight is a much worse cash fight, with Topuria being a 4-1 favorite and the fight being -400 to not go to a decision. Oliveira doesn’t win enough to play in cash. Topuria is a fine cash play.
Bward586: The betting lines would indicate that stacking the co-main along with Topuria in the main event is the optimal way to handle the two 5-rounders. However, I’m going out on a limb myself. I expect Pantoja to win his fight clearly, while Oliveira is a live dog to pull the upset. As such, I’ll have a stack in the main event with Pantoja while leaving Kara-France out of my cash game lineups.
LiamPicksFights: I like the idea of grabbing Ilia Topuria and Kai Kara-France as my pieces in the main and co-main event rather than stacking. If I had to pick one fight to stack, it would be the flyweight title fight. That stack could end up paying off, but I would be surprised to see the main event go longer than 3 rounds, regardless of winner.
Which fight are you most likely to avoid and why?
h3budda: Cortez/Araujo – There are only two ways that this fight makes an optimal lineup: Cortez dominates with a 30-27 grappling-heavy game plan, or Araujo wins outright. I don’t see either of those happening at a high rate. It’s the most likely fight to go to a decision (-550).
