MMA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for UFC 293 – Adesanya vs. Strickland
What are your thoughts about stacking the five-round fight in cash?
eys819: I think Strickland’s price is too good to pass up for cash games. He probably doesn’t get the victory, but the fight has a decent chance to last five rounds. There are no value plays (outside of maybe Miranda) I feel good about for cash, and Strickland has the highest floor at the lowest price. I don’t think you need to include Adesanya. He is the highest-priced fighter on the slate and hasn’t scored over 100 DK points in his last seven fights. The floor is great, but I think I can find a better score at a lower price point.
Moneyball16: This is an unappealing 5-rounder. Despite the large majority of Adesanya’s fights being 5-rounders, he has not scored very well in wins, and he has historically been hard to score against as well. Excellent fighter, but a medicore DFS option. Strickland has appeal in cash with a decent floor for a very cheap price but lacks win equity, and neither of these guys are cash locks. I would not stack.
h3budda: Typically Adesanya’s fights are not the best to target outside of a projected finish. He is -140 to win inside the distance, but the o/u is 3.5 (-125 to the over). Strickland has too good of a price to not play on this slate. He will certainly put up some points in this spot. There’s no glaring pricing errors to take advantage of.
squirrelpatrol: It’s not the best fight to stack for cash. Adesanya already has six 5-round decision wins in his UFC career, and those have averaged just 83.4 DK points, which doesn’t come close to paying off his $9,700 DK price tag. It’s not crazy to stack it, and I like the Strickland side for cash at his $6,500 salary, but Adesanya might be better left for tournaments.
