MMA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for UFC 296: Edwards vs. Covington

What are your thoughts about stacking the five-round fight in cash?

eys819: I would definitely stack the main event since it is priced in the mid-range with tight odds and is favored to last the full five rounds. Covington should score well as long as he doesn’t get caught early. Edwards should be able to rack up enough volume to put up a solid score, and locking him in protects you against him potentially ending the fight early and putting up a ceiling score. The co-main event is a solid stack as well, but it is favored to end before the end of the third round. The risk of the stack is a low score from the loser. I would lock in Pantoja, but I don’t think Royval is a must.

Moneyball16: With two 5-rounders this week, I think the best way to play it is to stack Edwards and Covington, and then play Pantoja. The favorites, Edwards and Pantoja, have solid win odds for their price, and Covington has massive fantasy upside. Royval lacks takedown upside and his fight doesn’t have very high odds to go the full 5 rounds, whereas the Edwards/Covington fight is a strong favorite to go to a decision.

h3budda: There’s two 5-round fights on this slate that will have non-stop action. I’d strongly consider stacking both fights. The no-brainer is the main event, Covington/Edwards. That fight is -150 to go to a decision and should easily cover the significant strikes in that fight. The flyweight bout is tricky because it is expected to finish. I’d guess it will be complete chaos up until then. If you want to lock in one of the two, I can’t blame you.

What is the fight you are most likely to avoid and why?
