Bill Algeo vs. Kyle Nelson

Fight Odds: -230 Algeo vs. +200 Nelson
Weight Class: 145lb. (Featherweight)

Bill Algeo is a Northeast fighter based out of Philadelphia, and he has put together a broadly impressive resume inside the octagon. “Senor Perfecto” is 5-3 in the promotion with wins over quality opposition like Joanderson Brito, Alexander Hernandez, and Herbert Burns. Algeo pushes a relentless pace, he is a talented BJJ black belt, and he lands a ridiculous 6.1 significant strikes per minute spent in the octagon.

Kyle “The Monster” Nelson has seemingly found his groove in the UFC after dropping down to the featherweight division and rattling off consecutive wins as an underdog against Fernando Padilla and Blake Bilder. Nelson has power in his strikes, and he is somewhat competent on the mat, but since moving to 145lbs, I think this is his most-talented, well-rounded opponent, and he should be able to push the kind of pace that has gotten to Nelson in the past. Nelson has been stopped 3 times in his four UFC losses, and if he is unable to hurt Algeo early or ground him with takedowns, I expect him to fall behind on the numbers, get desperate, and get finished late by “Senor Perfecto.”

Prediction: Bill Algeo defeats Kyle Nelson via Club/SUB Rd. 2/3
