UFC Fight Night: Beneil Dariush vs. Arman Tsarukyan
The UFC is back in Austin, Texas for a stacked fight night card replete with headline quality talent and well matched fights. Jamey-Lyn Horth vs. Veronica Hardy
Fight Odds: -190 Horth vs. +160 Hardy
Weight Class: 125lb. (Women’s Flyweight)
Jamey-Lyn Horth is coming off a successful debut up a weight class and on short notice against Hailey Cowan, and she is looking to impress in her sophomore outing against Veronica Hardy. Hardy used to fight under her maiden name Veronica Macedo and turned in an unimpressive 1-4 record with the promotion before returning from a three year hiatus to secure a win over The Ultimate Fighter Season 30 Champion Julianna Miller via unanimous decision. Hardy looked improved against Miller, but she still lacks the physicality of the typical 125lb contender, and her cardio and grappling core competencies left a lot to be desired.
As for Horth, she gritted out a tough win in sub-optimal circumstances last time out, and now she is returning to her natural weight class, where she has recorded 5 of her 6 professional wins (all via finish). I expect Horth to dominate Hardy physically the longer this fight goes on, and eventually her opportunistic back take series will present an opportunity to close the show.
Prediction: Jamey-Lyn Horth defeats Veronica Hardy via SUB2/3
