Welcome to the weekend and to SquirrelPatrol’s Takedowns for UFC Fight Night – Barboza vs. Murphy. This card is being held back in the UFC APEX in Las Vegas and features a mix of UFC veterans and younger fighters. The card has thankfully stayed at 12 fights, with every fighter making weight on Friday. While this fight night event doesn’t have the star power that the UFC 302 PPV event will have in a couple of weeks, it does have some interesting decision points as we try to balance scoring upside with salary and win equity. Khaos Williams looks like he will be a popular fighter on this card, but I have some interest in being over the field on his opponent, Carlston Harris. Harris is just a +108 underdog, giving him 46% implied probability of winning this fight, but he has a fraction of the projected ownership of Williams (16.1% pOwn% for Harris and 39.6% pOwn% for Williams). Harris does have lower ITD odds than Williams, but he has the ability to rack up points on the mat, landing 5 of 12 takedowns in his fight against Jared Gooden last year on the way to scoring a 112 DK point win.
