Welcome to the weekend and to SquirrelPatrol’s Takedowns for UFC Fight Night: Rozenstruik vs. Gaziev. This card is being held at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas. Sandwiched between some higher-quality Fight Night events and PPV events, this frankly isn’t the highest-tier card. We have thankfully stayed at 11 fights on the slate after weigh-ins, but with a main event featuring Jair Rozenstruik as an underdog to Shamil Gaziev in his second UFC fight, this card has some questionable UFC fighters. We do have some massive favorites and intriguing underdogs however, and there are some fighters with a history of big fantasy scores. Let’s dig into the slate and see if we can find some overlooked picks to help us take down a GPP this weekend.
MMA DFS Picks: SquirrelPatrol’s Takedowns for UFC Fight Night – Rozenstruik vs. Gaziev
Bernando Sopaj
DraftKings: $7,600
FanDuel: $14
Bernando Sopaj won’t sneak past anyone on this card as a late-replacement fighter who was priced too low for his win odds. He is showing up as one of our highest-owned fighters (44.8% projected ownership) despite being an underdog. Sopaj was already preparing for a fight in Sweden next week, so he should be prepared despite the short notice, and his 48% implied win probability and 18% implied odds for a first-round win are just too good to fade. I will make an effort to pair Sopaj with lower-owned fighters to give my lineups some differentiation, and I won’t roster him at a rate above his implied win probability in multi-entry.
