Welcome to the weekend and to SquirrelPatrol’s Takedowns for UFC Fight Night: Vettori vs. Cannonier. I’ll be taking a look at some overlooked fighters who could help you take down a tournament this weekend. After losing two fights on Thursday, we’re down to a 12-fight card, but there should still be plenty of action and opportunities for us to get different with our lineups. Let’s dig into the slate and see if we can find some overlooked MMA DFS picks that can get us to the top of the leaderboard with our GPP lineups.

MMA DFS Picks: SquirrelPatrol’s Takedowns for UFC Fight Night – Vettori vs. Cannonier

Carlos Hernandez
DraftKings: $8,300
FanDuel: $15

The Hernandez – Bondar fight is one of the best leverage spots on the card, with the higher-priced Hernandez likely to see much lower ownership due to his slight underdog status. The current fight odds give Hernandez a 46% chance for a win compared to 54% for Bondar, but we’re projecting Hernandez to see a third of the ownership (10.6% for Hernandez compared to 32.2% for Bondar). Hernandez has first-round finish odds (10%) nearly equal to his ownership and comes in as one of the lowest-projected owned fighters on the card. Bondar has no fights on his record since his February 2022 loss to Malcolm Gordon where he suffered a broken arm, and I’m not confident he can get on the winning side here against Hernandez.
