Monday, February 15th - FanDuel Single Game Analysis: PHI @ UTA
Is your main slate lineup looking rough? Or did you not get off work in time to make one? Or just looking for a little more action? Don’t worry, FanDuel has you covered with their Single Game format. Monday night’s marquee game is PHI @ UTA starting at 9 PM ET. You can make a lineup with players from just this game. Below are some options for players to use in the MVP slot and other cheap options that will allow you to fit in the big dogs.
Top MVP Options
Joel Embiid ($16,500) – Joel Embiid is currently listed as questionable for Monday’s game with a back injury but is easily the games top overall fantasy option if he is able to suit up. Embiid has posted a massive (career-best) 35% usage rate through 31 games this season and will be the 76ers’ offensive focal point on a nightly basis regardless of matchup. While the Jazz have been tremendous defensively by funneling their opponents into mid-range shot attempts, that’s an area that Embiid has excelled this season, shooting 44% from “long” mid-range. In other words, I’m not overly worried about the matchup here and think that as long as he’s active, Embiid is the easy MVP option in this game.
Donovan Mitchell ($13,500) – Mike Conley has already been ruled out for Monday’s game which means we’ll get another dose of point Mitchell against the 76ers. Mitchell has posted a 31.9% usage rate in 479 minutes with Conley off the court this season and is averaging a solid per 36 line of 25.84/4.43/6.53. Mitchell has averaged 47.3 FanDuel points over the last four games with Conley out and is my slightly preferred STAR option over teammate Rudy Gobert.
Top Value Options
Joe Ingles ($9,500) – Jordan Clarkson doesn’t quite qualify for the under $10,000 value threshold so Joe Ingles gets the nod as my favorite cheap Jazz player. Ingles has entered the starting rotation with Conley sidelined which has helped stabilize his minutes in the low-to-mid 30’s range. While Ingles doesn’t have a ton of fantasy upside, he has topped 35 FD points in two of his last four games which is excellent production for his price tag.
Seth Curry ($8,000) – Since we’re on the subject of mostly unexciting fantasy players that are good three-point shooters, we may as well talk a little bit about Seth Curry who rates as Philadelphia’s top value option in this game. Thanks to a Shake Milton injury, Curry has seen his playing time spike recently, averaging 34 minutes over the last couple of games which is an encouraging sign despite his lackluster fantasy production. While Curry currently rates as our top point-per-dollar 76ers player priced under $10,000, Danny Green is also worth a look in the UTIL slot. Green’s $1,000 price savings is valuable in some lineup builds.
