Monday, March 1st - FanDuel Single Game Analysis: CHA @ POR

Is your main slate lineup looking rough? Or did you not get off work in time to make one? Or just looking for a little more action? Don’t worry, FanDuel has you covered with their Single Game format. Monday night’s marquee game is CHA @ POR starting at 10:30 PM ET. You can make a lineup with players from just this game. Below are some options for players to use in the MVP slot and other cheap options that will allow you to fit in the big dogs.

Top MVP Options

Damian Lillard ($16,500) – Lillard is the top MVP option in this game by a wide margin – we currently have him projected for 52.8 FanDuel points, which is 10+ points higher than the next player in line, LaMelo Ball (42.34 FDP). Dame has posted a career-best 32.7% usage rate this season and has been a monster fantasy producer, averaging 29.9 points and 8.0 assists Per 36 minutes. Charlotte struggles to defend the three-point line, which is an area where Lillard thrives, as he’s averaging 4.2 three-pointers made Per 36 minutes this season.

LaMelo Ball ($13,500) – As the leading rookie of the year candidate, LaMelo has seen his role increase as the season has progressed. Ball has also recently benefited from the absence of Devonte’ Graham but is still my favorite STAR option even if Graham is able to suit up against the Trailblazers. Ball has been an extremely consistent fantasy producer of late, scoring 34+ FDP’s in 13 of his last 15 games. Monday’s matchup is a good one for the Hornets as the Trailblazers own the third-worst defensive rating in the league.

Top Value Options

Gary Trent ($10,500) – I typically like to provide value options from both teams and limit it to players who are priced below $10,000. However, the reality of this slate is that with Lillard the only player priced north of $13,500, you really don’t need two low-priced players to make a strong lineup. That brings me to Gary Trent who has been playing heavy minutes for Portland and has the ability to score from deep. Carmelo Anthony ($10,000) is another fine Portland alternative in this price range.

Cody Zeller ($9,000) / Bismack Biyombo ($6,000)Cody Zeller missed Sunday’s game with a hip injury and is considered questionable for Monday night’s game against Portland. If he suits up, Zeller makes for one of the game’s best options under $10K even with a conservative minutes projection in the low-20’s. If Zeller is inactive, Bismack Biyombo is a candidate to start in his place and would immediately become the game’s top point-per-dollar option. It’s worth noting that even if starting, Biyombo’s minutes aren’t stable and there’s a chance that he sees his playing time fall into the low-teens.
