NASCAR DFS & Betting Preview: Pennzoil 400 Odds & Pricing

Hey everyone, welcome to the RotoGrinders daily fantasy NASCAR and betting recap/preview article. This is a new series for the 2022 season.

This week we head to Clark County, Nevada for the Pennzoil 400. The Pennzoil 400 is Sunday at 3:30pm EST on FOX. The XFINITY Series will be racing this weekend as well, Saturday at 4:30pm EST on FS1. The Trucks are back in action on Friday night at 9pm EST on FS1. Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin won the two races at Las Vegas in the Cup Series last season. Josh Berry and AJ Allmendinger won the two XFINITY races. John Hunter Nemechek and Christian Eckes won the two Truck races.

Las Vegas Motor Speedway is a 1.5-mile D-Shaped oval. It’s also a steep track but doesn’t have high tire wear like Darlington and Homestead. I think the best comp is Kansas, but it’s not perfect. The Cup Series will be running the right-side tire they ran last weekend at Auto Club, but this is the first time they’ve run this left-side tire. The Cup Series will have a 35-minute practice, and with the limited amount of time, we should be able to use a lot of that data. It’s still very early into the season and were still learning about these cars.

DraftKings NASCAR Fantasy Preview

The race this weekend is 267 laps, which gives us the highest amount of potential dominator points on the season. On DraftKings, we’re looking at a potential of 120.15 fastest lap points and 66.75 laps led points. FanDuel, we’re looking at 26.7 laps led, and 26.7 laps completed points. There have been at least two dominators in five of the last six races on both DraftKings and FanDuel. I want to focus on two to three dominators on most lineups, but with the uncertainty of the car, I’ll build some one dominator teams as well. Optimal lineups have left a maximum of $500 on DraftKings over the last six races. I’ll be breaking down practice and qualifying in By The Numbers and the Driver Breakdown Show.

Hope you took advantage of Kyle Larson, and Bowman over Alex Bowman. Kyle Larson had the most speed at Las Vegas and Kansas last season. William Byron, Denny Hamlin, and Chase Elliott were the next best in speed. These cars are a lot different, so I don’t want to rely on just 2021 speed. Looking at past data, I don’t mind William Byron at +1300, I think that line moves closer to 1000. Looking at speed from last weekend, I don’t mind some half unit bets on Tyler Reddick +1600 or Erik Jones +2500. None of the featured matchups are standing out to me before practice and qualifying.
