This weekend, we head to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Bank of America 400. The race is Sunday at 3pm ET on USA. For the first time since 2017, the fall race at Charlotte is on the oval. With the Next-Gen car, I’d prefer the oval over the road course, so I like this change. This is the same tire they’ve used at Charlotte the last two oval races here. There have been 18, 16, 7, 8 and 12 cautions in the 5 Next-Gen races here. The race earlier this season was shortened by rain, but not as much as 2024. I’ll be using recent Charlotte data, recent large high-speed intermediate data, 2026 speed, recent speed, and a few other things when building lineups this weekend. Practice and qualifying were rained out and set by the metric.
