This weekend we head to Darlington for the Cook Out Southern 500. This is one of the crown jewels of NASCAR, and a race every driver in the field wants to win. The race is at 5:00pm EST on USA. This is the first race of the 2026 NASCAR Chase. With the high-tire wear and steep banks, anything can happen at Darlington. This is the same tire from earlier this season at Darlington. With no practice and qualifying, I’m going to use recent speed with this package, and weigh the race from earlier this season a little more than usual. The race winner has started inside the top ten in 10 of the last 12 races here. I’ll be using recent Darlington data, Steep high tire wear track data, 2026 speed, and a few other things when building lineups.
