This weekend we head to Watkins Glen for the Go Bowling at the Glen. The race is Sunday at 3pm ET on FS1. Watkins Glen is a 2.45-mile road course that features 7 turns. Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mom’s in this community. The weather is much different in May than it is in August, and we’re seeing a different Watkins Glen this weekend. There was rain Saturday morning before practice and qualifying. Some teams started practice on wet tires and some teams ended practice on wet tires. There was a lot of fall off on slick tires. It’s a combo of the new tire, more hp, less downforce, and weather. SVG was the best car in practice, his first lap on slicks was 72.72 and on lap 18, he ran a 77.21. I think we see all kinds of different strategies this weekend, which adds even more variance to a road course. Tires are going to matter which makes it even more interesting this weekend. On top of all of that, NASCAR added tire barriers in turns 1 and 5. Which limits the track limits a little more than usual. They’ve also added 10 extra laps, which makes the second stage 10 laps longer than years past. I’ll be using 2026 speed, 2025-2026 road course speed, practice data, Next-Gen Road course data, and a few other things when building lineups.

NASCAR DFS Picks: Go Bowling at the Glen

The stages are 20, 30, and 50, which is a total of 100 laps. The fuel window is 33 to 38 laps but tires we’re cording at 15-18 laps in practice. With 100 laps, we’re only looking at 10 points for laps led and 10 points for laps completed on FanDuel.
