This weekend we head to Bristol Motor Speedway for the Food City 500. After running dirt in the spring the last three seasons, we’re back to the concrete at Bristol this weekend. On top of being back to the concrete, there is a resin on the bottom groove instead of the PJ1 traction compound. This made for some interesting practice and qualifying. Group A had much better track conditions than Group B in practice, and then Group B had better track conditions in qualifying. As I mentioned on the Breakdown Show, practice data is misleading this weekend. I did the best I could to break it down on the sheet and on the show. With the lack on practice data, I’m going to be relying on recent speed, Bristol data, and a few other things when building lineups this weekend.
