This weekend we head to Martinsville Speedway for the Xfinity 500. The race is Sunday at 2pm ET on NBC. With Hamlin and Briscoe locked in, and Larson/Bell well above the cut off line, we have an interesting race on Sunday. Logano, Blaney, Elliott, and Byron are all likely in must win situations and all have the upside to win this race. If one of them win, it will be a points battle between Larson and Bell. Martinsville Speedway is a unique .526-mile short-flat track. Martinsville history is usually the most useful data to look at. With that said, we have a new left-side tire this weekend. Practice is going to play a larger role for me than normal. Group A had better track conditions at the start of practice. They have a little better short run speed because of it. Group B had less fall off and better overall speed. Group B had better track conditions for qualifying as well. When building lineups this weekend, I’ll be looking at 2025 speed, recent Martinsville data, 2025 pit road data, practice, and a few other things. As I always say at Martinsville, roster construction is so important, and don’t discount the dominator plays with this many potential dominator points. In the 7 races with the Next-Gen car, we’ve had anywhere from 4 to 10 cautions. From 2018 to 2022 there were 8 races here, and 7 of them had at least 7 cautions, with 4 of them having 11+ cautions. The race last Fall had 9 cautions, and the Spring race had 10 cautions, which was the most with the Next-Gen car.

NASCAR DFS Picks: Xfinity 500

The stages are 130, 130, and 240, which is a total of 500 laps. With 500 laps, we’re looking at 50 laps completed points, and 50 laps led points. On DraftKings, we’re looking at 225 fastest laps points and 125 laps led points. Even if we run close to 100 caution laps, we’re looking at close to 280 dominator points. It’s very rare to see a one dominator race here, and we typically see anywhere from two to four dominators.
