This weekend, we head to Martinsville for the NFPA 250. The race is Saturday at 3:30pm ET on The CW. Track history is important at Martinsville, and it’s going to be the thing I weigh the most. We can look at recent short flat track data and 2025/2026 speed as well. The 2020 season was the first time since 2006 and 1994 that the XFINITY Series ran at Martinsville. I’ll be weighing the 11 races since returning and looking through the data in those races. In those 11 races, we’ve had at least 9 cautions for 63 laps in each race. Despite all the cautions, the race winner has started inside the top 10 in 8 of those 11 races here. Martinsville is unique, so there is a bump to drivers with some type of race history here. Track position is important and tends to be something that’s overlooked by casual DFS players. With the longer practice, we were able to get a lot of great data on Friday.
