This weekend we head to Martinsville for the IAA & Ritchie Bros. 250. We have a Saturday night race for the Xfinity Series this week. The race is at 7:30 PM ET on The CW. With Aric Almirola winning at Las Vegas and Austin Hill winning at Talladega, only Connor Zilisch is locked into the Championship 4. Justin Allgaier (+76) is all but locked in. Jesse Love (+40) and Carson Kvapil (+11) are the two other cars above the cutoffline. Sammy Smith (-11), Brandon Jones (-20), Sam Mayer (-22), and Sheldon Creed (-41) are the four drivers below the cutoffline. I think Jones, Mayer, and Creed all have the upside to win. It should be a fantastic race and should be better than the spring race here. Track history is important at Martinsville, and it’s going to be the thing I weigh the most. We can look at recent short flat track data and 2024/2025 speed as well. The 2020 season was the first time since 2006 and 1994 that the Xfinity Series ran at Martinsville. I’ll be weighing the seven recent races and looking through the data in those races. In those seven races, we’ve had at least 10 cautions for 68 laps in each race. Despite all the cautions, the race winner has started inside the top 10 in 6 of the last 7 races here. The spring race had 14 cautions for 104 laps. Like other short-flat tracks, track position is important this weekend.
NASCAR Xfinity Series DFS Picks: IAA & Ritchie Bros. 250
The stages are 60, 60, and 130, which is a total of 250 laps. With 250 laps, we’re looking at a potential of 112.5 fastest lap points and 62.5 laps-led points. Even with the caution laps, we’re looking at 140+ dominator points. We likely will see most drivers pit at the end of stage 2, and that will be their only pit stop of the race.
