NBA All-Star Game 2021 DFS Overview
All-Star Game
Hello Grinders, hope you’re having a good NBA All-Star break. I’ll be providing some background on this game and looking at some historical data. Let’s dive in!
Background & Rules
This year there will be no fans in attendance for the All-Star game, but similar to last year, they will be using the new scoring format. Here’s how it works:
1. The score will be reset to 0-0 after the first and second quarters.
2. The winning team of the first, second and third quarters will receive $50K each quarter to donate to charity.
3. The total scores from each quarter will be combined at the start of the fourth quarter.
4. The fourth quarter has no time limit. The winning team is determined by reaching a target score of 24 points (to honor Kobe Bryant) added to their total of whichever team has the lead through three quarters. For example, if Team LeBron leads 100-94 after three quarters, the first team to reach 124 points wins. Or here’s another example. If Team Durant is leading 85-80 to start the fourth quarter, the first team to 109 points (85 + 24) wins the game. The winning team gets another $300K for charity.
