NBA DFS Core Plays LIVE: Thursday, January 19th
Andy Means (meansy53), a former Duke basketball walk-on, will be bringing Premium subscribers his top NBA DFS plays to build around on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Everyone’s favorite, Notorious, will be guiding you on Tuesdays and Thursdays. And on weekends, the GPP maestro you all know and love, STLCards, takes the reins.
GENERAL SLATE THOUGHTS
10:35 AM ET: Good morning and happy Thursday! I’m looking for some redemption today, as the last two slates could not have gone any worse. A lot of randomness is going to happen over the course of an NBA season, but the Nets meltdown against the Spurs on Tuesday really hurt the bankroll. It’s never fun tagging Royce O’Neale as a core play and watching him play 21 minutes in a game without Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. O’Neale and Joe Harris combined to score 10.5 fantasy points. Then last night I decided to prioritize Luka Doncic and LaMelo Ball. One underwhelmed mightily after the first quarter and the other was injured early in the third quarter.
We’ll look to right the ship on tonight’s five-game slate, but before we do, I have a question for the amazing readers of this article. How many tabs is too many tabs for a single browser window? Personally, I like to have so many tabs open that you can’t even see the text in each one. All you can see is the logo of each site. Now, there’s a method to my madness. I have my tabs grouped by site and sport. This all started when I was doing the golf show with STLCards and since then, I’ve had quite a few people reach out to me. I can’t believe how many copious tab users are out there like myself.
Now, let’s get back to tonight’s slate. There is only one team playing in the second half of a back-to-back and that is the Wolves. After losing a close one in Denver last night, they have to fly home to host the Raptors. Rudy Gobert did not suit up for Wednesday’s game and is not expected to play tonight, so we get another night of Naz Reid chalk. I’m personally fine with these chalk situations because Reid almost always takes advantage of his opportunities to start.
Here’s the injury situation for the entire slate:
Out
Cade Cunningham
JaMychal Green
Andre Iguodala
Jonathan Kuminga
James Wiseman
Karl-Anthony Towns
Jordan McLaughlin
Devin Booker
Josh Okogie
Cam Payne
Landry Shamet
Doubtful
Rudy Gobert
Questionable
Jalen Duren
Cory Joseph
Nerlens Noel
Jaylen Brown
Dalano Banton
Austin Rivers
Chris Paul
Throughout the day, I’ll post about certain spots to watch and what happens if certain players end up getting ruled out. I’ll have the rankings tables updated here in the next few hours.
