Happy Friday!
It is going to be a wild day in the Noto household. I have my usual NFL content (Key Personnel, CVR, Expert Survey), which typically takes up my entire day. We add in a massive NBA slate, a house showing at 12:00 PM, and a GrindersLive appearance with Dean and Beer at 5:40 PM ET. I already know my Friday night whiskey is going to taste especially great. I woke up in a great mood, so while it’s going to be a busy day, let’s make it a great one.
I have some good news on the house front. We received an offer last night. We have to make some concessions if we are going to accept the offer, but it’s a solid offer in this market. We have until 10:00 PM ET to decide, so add that to the list as well. I’ve received a few messages from RG members wishing me luck on the house sale, so I really appreciate it. I love when this feels like a community. If you ever need anything from me, you know where to find me.
Slate Overview
There are 12 games on the schedule today. We have a rare early game if anyone is interested in playing NBA Showdown. We won’t cover that game here, but our projections team has you covered in LineupHQ. There are 11 games starting at 7:00 PM ET or later, which you would think would lead to an 11-game main slate on both sites. FanDuel obliged and made it easy, while DraftKings decided to throw a wrench into those plans. They have split up the schedule into two slates — a 6-game main slate and a 5-game late slate.
In terms of DFS strategy, I’m taking a similar approach as I did on Wednesday. We are dealing with extremely small sample sizes this early in the season, so we don’t truly know the roles and rotations for all of these teams. Early in the season is the best time to be a little contrarian. This doesn’t mean that we should fade the good chalk (which we’ll talk about in the Core Plays table), but don’t be afraid to pivot away from players who project well that you think have paths to failure.
We have a lot of injuries to monitor today, and I will write blurbs about each in the Injury News tab of the Core Plays table. Good luck tonight, and make sure to tune into GrindersLive at 5:40 PM ET.

I’m always looking to make the Core Plays table better, so you might notice some small adjustments each day. Since we have differing slates on FanDuel and DraftKings, I added slate badges to each of the tabs. You can easily see which games are included on each slate. For the Core Plays, I will focus on the 11-game slate on FanDuel and the 6-game slate on DraftKings. For the injury tabs, I’ll keep them updated for all 12 of today’s games.
