NBA DFS Core Plays: Thursday, September 17th

Hello Grinders. Andy is out on a well-deserved vacation for the next week, so I will be covering for him. We’ve moved into the part of the playoffs where we no longer have two-game slates and are moving to the single-game Showdown format. Even though this article is called “Core Plays”, I’m going to take the liberty to deviate a bit from the standard Core Play format of listing one or two “core plays.” That type of format works when you have a multi-game slate, but I feel that the Showdown format requires much more of a focus on lineup construction and game theory. It’s important for me that we don’t get locked into thinking a player is a “core play”, as the goal of a Showdown lineup should be how to have a differentiated lineup without sacrificing ceiling. So for the next week, I’m going to do fewer “picks” and more Showdown discussion centered on how we may be able to get a unique build to try and differentiate ourselves from the field.
