NBA DFS Lineup Advice Today

Thursday brings us all-day basketball, but for our FanDuel and DraftKings NBA purposes, we have a 6-game slate with the last game of the evening removed from the main slate on both sites.

The NBA action tips off at 7:00 PM ET, with the Pelicans in Orlando to face the Magic (NOP -2.5, 207.5) and the Kings on the second night of a back-to-back facing the Wizards in Washington (SAC -11.5, 237.5). The injury report its somewhat quiet for the first window of games, with Matt Ryan questionable for the Pelicans and Sasha Vezenkov questionable for the Kings.

One hour later Brooklyn visits Milwaukee to face the Bucks (MIL -9.0, 220.5) and Chicago visits Houston (HOU -4.0, 219.0). The injury report for these games is much more significant, with Giannis Antetokounmpo questionable again for the Bucks, Nic Claxton questionable for the Nets, and Alex Caruso and Coby White questionable for the Bulls.

At 8:30 PM ET Utah faces Dallas (DAL -13.5, 237.5) with Jordan Clarkson and John Collins out for the Jazz while Lauri Markkanen is expected to play. The slate concludes with the 9:00 PM ET game as the Knicks is in the altitude of Denver to take on the Nuggets (DEN -9.5, 208.0)with a fairly clean injury report on both sides.

Let’s sort through the slate and figure out what to do with our DFS lineups.

Top NBA DFS Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel

High Flyers

Who are the players I’m picking first for my squad? These guys are the first selections for both my cash game and tournament lineups, and I’ll sacrifice elsewhere, if need be, to ensure I get them in:

Domantas Sabonis
FanDuel: $11,000
DraftKings: $11,000

Domantas Sabonis kicks off our High Flyers with matching $11,000 price tags on FanDuel and DraftKings. This is a dream matchup against Washington, who allows the most points, rebounds, and assists per game in the league. Sabonis ranks 1st in the league in rebounding, 6th in assists, and 40th in points per game. The blowout risk is a concern, but the Kings were able to play lighter minutes last night, and Sabonis dropped 28 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 assists against Washington in their matchup earlier this season.

Luka Doncic
FanDuel: $12,800
DraftKings: $12,700

Luka’s price tag is near its season highs on both sites, but as we get more value the further we get into the NBA season, he is becoming easier to afford. Tonight he gets one of the top matchups in the league against a Jazz team that allows the 4th-most points in the league and has the worst defensive rating in the NBA over each team’s last 10 games (yes, even worse than the Wizards). Luka ranks 3rd in the league in points off turnovers and the Jazz allow the 4th most points off turnovers in the NBA, and this game is tied for the highest total on the slate.

Site Specialists

Just like a good 3-and-D small forward, sometimes a player fits the specific need we have on the specific site we’re playing on. These are the guys that stand out on one particular site:
