NBA DFS Lineup Advice Today

We have a 7-game slate ahead of us on Thursday night, with every game on the NBA schedule on the main slate and our standard national TV doubleheader on TNT.

Two games tip things off at 7:00 PM ET when the Karl-Anthony Towns-less Timberwolves visit Indiana (IND -2.0, 228.0), and the Nets visit Detroit (BKN -2, 215.5) with Lonnie Walker listed as questionable.

Those 2 games are followed by 1 game at 7:30 PM ET when Miami travels to Dallas to face the Mavericks (DAL -4.5, 229.5) with both teams DFS-healthy (no players listed questionable and no new injuries from their past few games).

We then take an hour-and-a-half break until Toronto faces the Suns in Phoenix (PHO -10.5, 133.5) at 9:00 PM ET. Toronto has Ochai Agbaji and Jalen McDaniels listed as questionable, and both teams are adjusting to the recent loss of some major players, with the Raptors missing Scottie Barnes and Jakob Poeltl and the Suns missing Devin Booker.

The 10:00 PM ET window features a relatively large 3 games, with the Bulls on the road facing Golden State (GSW -12.0, 223.0), Boston in Denver (DEN -1.0, 220.5), and the Spurs in Sacramento (SAC -11.0, 236.0). Jaylen Brown is questionable for the Celtics, and one of the big injury situations for the slate is Victor Wembanyama being out for the Spurs.

Let’s sort through the slate and figure out what to do with our DFS lineups.

Top NBA DFS Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel

High Flyers

Who are the players I’m picking first for my squad? These guys are the first selections for both my cash game and tournament lineups, and I’ll sacrifice elsewhere, if need be, to ensure I get them in:

DeAaron Fox
FanDuel: $9,500
DraftKings: $8,500

The Kings are one of my favorite teams to target today, as San Antonio has been one of the worst defensive teams in the league this season, and they could be even worse today. Of Spurs players who have averaged more than 21 minutes per game, the team has its best defensive rating when Victor Wembanyama is on the court (112.2) and its worst defensive rating when Zach Collins is on the court (118.7). The Spurs have already given up the 6th-most points per game and the 7th-most assists per game this season. This game has the highest point total on the night, and the Kings are favored by 11 points at home. At home, Fox averages 1.5 assists per game more (6.5 assists) than on the road (5.0 assists) this season. Fox also has over 50 DK points in 6 of his past 7 games.

Domantas Sabonis
FanDuel: $10,800
DraftKings: $10,600

While De’Aaron Fox is a great play, this matchup may be even more favorable for Domantas Sabonis. The Spurs allow the 6th-most points in the paint per game this season, and over their last 10 games, they’ve allowed the 2nd-most points in the paint per game. Now they’ll be without Victor Wembanyama in favor of Zach Collins, making the team significantly worse defensively in the paint.

Just like a good 3-and-D small forward, sometimes a player fits the specific need we have on the specific site we’re playing on. These are the guys that stand out on one particular site:
