Core Plays LIVE: NBA DFS Picks for Saturday, November 9th
A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career and has long been one of the top NBA DFS minds in the industry. On weekends, Taylor Smith takes the reins. Their Core Plays LIVE article will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, Core Plays LIVE has everything you need for your DraftKings and FanDuel lineups.
Congratulate yourself- you’ve made it to the weekend. What awaits you is a wee 3-game NBA slate on both DraftKings and FanDuel on the heels of last night’s 13-game bonanza. It’s a weird one too, as 2 of the games tip off at 7:30 ET, and we’ll then have to wait 3 dang hours for the nightcap at 10:30 ET.
We could also have some news to monitor to make it even more annoying. Immanuel Quickley is questionable to play in that last game of the night, but maybe the Raptors will do us a solid and give us some clarity on his status in their earlier injury reports. Regardless, this should be a relatively light day for news, so let’s get into it.

News Updates
Here’s where I’ll provide news updates as they come in.
Team Previews
Brooklyn Nets (at CLE)
We have 4 of the 6 teams playing on this slate that also played last night. That includes the Nets, who lost in overtime to Boston ahead of tonight’s clash with the unbeaten Cavs in Cleveland. Ben Simmons will sit the 2nd half of the back-to-back, while Trendon Watford, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Day’Ron Sharpe remain sidelined. Brooklyn is also a huge underdog in a game with a spread of 13 points. Simmons has been coming off the bench, but his absence will still open up 24-27 rotation minutes. Cam Thomas (+4%) has seen a nice usage boost in the Simmons-less minutes so far this season, while Dennis Schroder (1.2 DK FP/min.) has been terrific. Nic Claxton has yet to top 30 minutes in a game this season, but he projects decently for the dollar at $5,700 on both DraftKings and FanDuel.
I wouldn’t be interested in the Nets on a bigger slate, but some cheapies – Dorian Finney-Smith, Jalen Wilson, Ziaire Williams – are viable by default on a 3-gamer.
Cleveland Cavaliers (vs. BKN)
