NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, December 20

Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?

Notorious: Miles Bridges
Dean78904: Giannis Antetokounmpo
tcsmith031: Giannis Antetokounmpo
TJ Zwarych: Giannis Antetokounmpo

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

Notorious: I prefer small-field and single-entry tournaments. My plan of attack tonight is to eat the chalk from the Hornets and Bucks. Both teams are missing key players, so I’m not going to overthink the strong plays on those teams. I’m going to get a little different with the rest of my lineup. Most notably, I want to be overweight on the Heat in a pace-up matchup at home against the Thunder.

Dean78904: My main focus is single-entry and smaller-field contests. There are no appealing game environments, and no team has an island game, as they either played yesterday or play on Saturday. We’re all dealing with the same puzzle pieces, but understand that this slate is bowling-shoe ugly. The smaller the slate, the more willing I am to get goofy, so I’m interested in leaning into the ugly. The absence of LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, and Mark Williams is really opening things up for the Hornets, as we currently see up to four hitting optimal lineups. The Hornets have a bad enough offense (26th in offensive efficiency) when they are healthy, and they take on a very slow, pretty good defensive team in Philly, so I can just see a massive collapse. Sure, I will play some Hornets, but I will get to less than the field as I expect to limit them to 2-3 per lineup.

tcsmith031: Single-entry GPPs look more appealing on small slates like this one. I’m likely to set a max of 3-4 Bucks per lineup, as just about the entire team is popping from a value standpoint with Damian Lillard out tonight. Shaky values like Pat Connaughton and Andre Jackson look like potential fades, especially if they project for some ownership.

TJ Zwarych: I’ll just be playing 1 lineup focusing on single-entry contests on a small slate like tonight. I’ll play Giannis Antetokounmpo, balance out his salary with Delon Wright, and then figure out the rest of the spots after that. I like the idea of loading up on the Bucks’ big men, playing Giannis, Brook Lopez, and Bobby Portis all in the same lineup.
