NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, February 20

Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?

Notorious: Jalen Johnson
Dean78904: Jalen Johnson
tcsmith031: Jalen Johnson

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

Notorious: I prefer small-field tournaments. This is another slate where we have more value than we know what to do with. Many of the expensive plays aren’t going to project well on a per-dollar basis, but they will show up in the optimal lineups at a high rate due to all of the value. If you are hand building, make sure to keep in mind that it’s perfectly fine to target some of the superstars who have negative RGValues.

Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and small-field tournaments. This is very clearly a stars and scrubs slate. My favorite studs are Jalen Johnson, Anthony Edwards, and Zion Williamson. I trust the Memphis scrubs more than the Pacers and Wizards. Indy and Washington, two teams very obviously trying to lose, played yesterday. How badly are they trying to lose? Among the game’s 10 starters, only 2 finished the game, and it wasn’t a blowout. They run it back tonight, and I just don’t know how we can accurately predict who gets tanked off the court and who doesn’t. I’m not saying to completely avoid the game, but I’m treading lightly, especially with anyone who projects to be heavily rostered.

tcsmith031: I’ll focus on 20-max GPPs. There is going to be a ton of cheap value on this slate, especially with teams like the Pacers and Grizzlies now in tank mode. Being smart about how you correlate these pieces may be the key to the slate. Given the cheap salaries, I think you can get away with up to 4 Memphis players in a GPP lineup, though I’ll be much more wary of targeting Indiana with the way they’ve been running questionable rotations.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
