Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

tcsmith031: Zion Williamson – Power forward is rife with quality options, so I’m hoping Williamson slips through the cracks from an ownership standpoint as a result. We’ll be playing lots of the Memphis value, and I think it makes sense to run it back with either Zion or Trey Murphy in tournaments. The Grizzlies defense is much less potent around the rim without Zach Edey, and Williamson has regularly topped 30 minutes in recent games before he was limited the other night by an illness. Assuming he’s back to a full workload, he’s in a fantastic spot.

Dean78904: Jarrett Allen – This season, the Kings have the NBA’s 3rd-worst defensive efficiency, have given up the 7th-most rebounds, and have allowed the 2nd-most points in the paint. Allen makes his money rebounding the ball and scoring inside, as 74.2% of his points have come from the paint. The spot is excellent when considering Allen’s skill set and is confirmed by the fact that the Kings are the #1 matchup for Post Bigs according to our Defense vs. Archetype Matchup Tool. We’re currently projecting Allen to only play 29 minutes, but we’ve seen him get a little more of late, so I could see him grabbing 30+. Allen’s pOWN% will almost definitely be influenced by the availability of Jock Landale (currently questionable), but either way, I like the Cleveland big man in tournaments.

ncorfield8k: Dillon Brooks – Brooks is a volatile fantasy producer, so I’m always interested when he’s projected for single-digit ownership on a mid-sized slate. He’s also in a strong spot against the Hawks, who have played at the 3rd-fastest pace in the league over their last 10 games while ranking 15th in defensive rating. It’s the 2nd-best matchup for a Scoring Wing in our Defense vs. Archetype Tool.

What is your hot take of the slate?
