NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, May 8
Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?
Notorious: Jalen Brunson (FD) / Victor Wembanyama (DK)
headChopper: Victor Wembanyama
ncorfield8k: Paul George (FD) / Stephon Castle (DK)
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I prefer small-field tournaments. I expect both of these games to be competitive, so I’m not playing into the blowout angle on this slate. My biggest piece of advice on tonight’s slate is to be fluid, as we are still waiting on some key injuries. OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, Joel Embiid, Ayo Dosunmu, and Anthony Edwards are all questionable. If some of those players get ruled out, this will become a stars-and-scrubs slate.
headChopper: Small fields with single or limited entries are my preferred format tonight. I would be surprised to see the Spurs game turn into a shootout, but I would not at all be surprised to see the Knicks game score a ton of points. They were on a massive pace through 3 quarters before it became a defensive slugfest in the 4th quarter in Game 2. So I will be attacking that NYK/PHI game and using just a few players from the late game. I am building as if OG Anunoby is out. Even if he is active, I am building as if he is out. I doubt he can replicate his playoff performances with a bad hamstring, and the other Knicks all benefit.
ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments – The injury statuses of Joel Embiid and OG Anunoby will greatly impact how I play this slate. Luckily, they’re both in the first game, so we’ll know going into the slate. One thing that won’t change either way: I’m going to be playing a lot of Anthony Edwards and Naz Reid. I’m expecting the Wolves to bounce back at home after being embarrassed in Game 2 in San Antonio.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
