What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I plan to enter small-field and single-entry tournaments. Even though the players from the WAS/ATL game aren’t projecting all that well in the context of the slate, I want to be overweight on both teams. The game environment is too enticing, as both teams are in the top 4 in pace and the bottom 2 in points allowed per game. If you target a few players from this game, you can eat the chalk elsewhere.
Dean78904: I focus on single-entry contests where the most popular plays get even more popular, thus rewarding you if you are bold enough to fade a highly owned, well-projected player. With that in mind, I’m debating getting away from Jamal Murray, who will likely end up being one of the slate’s most rostered players. Jokic is out, so I’ll for sure load up on the other Nuggets, but I think getting away from Murray gets you immediately different, for better or worse.
tcsmith031: This looks like a good multi-entry slate, especially given the possibility that we may not have all of the injury news before the early games lock. As a result, I’ll try to limit my exposure to the 7:00 PM ET games to try and retain some flexibility. Even if late-breaking value doesn’t open up, I’m fine with using the cheap Suns pieces as fallback options.
TJ Zwarych: I’ve been having far more success with MME for NBA this season as opposed to single entry, and that’s what I’ll stick with tonight. There are teams like Miami and Detroit in great spots, and I’ll certainly look to get to those teams, but I’ll plan to be overweight on the teams with insanely high implied team totals of 120+ points, like the Cavs, Hawks, and Warriors (on FD), all of whom are projecting for low ownership early in the day.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
