NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, January 6

Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?

Notorious: Jaren Jackson
headChopper: Tyrese Maxey
Dean78904: Jaren Jackson (FD) / Victor Wembanyama (DK)
ncorfield8k: Jaren Jackson (FD) / Victor Wembanyama (DK)

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Notorious: Jaren Jackson – Name a player on the Grizzlies and that player is likely expected to miss this game. They are missing almost all of their key players, yet they still have a massive team total of 119.5 points in a matchup against the Mavericks. Jackson should dominate usage (34% or higher in 3 of his last 4 games) and fill up the stat sheet. He has topped 50 fantasy points in 3 of his last 6 games.

headChopper: Jaren JacksonJJJ thrives in the paint, particularly in the non-restricted area, where he averages 7.4 points per game—the most of any player on this slate. Dallas has a solid defense, limiting 3-pointers, avoiding fouls, and protecting the rim well. However, they struggle to defend jumpers in the paint away from the rim, which is JJJ’s sweet spot. With Memphis shorthanded, Jackson will carry a heavier scoring load—provided he can avoid foul trouble.

Dean78904: Jaren Jackson – The Griz are dealing with a slew of injuries, but let’s focus on the two big ones – Ja Morant (out) and Desmond Bane (doubtful). JJJ has a team-leading 34.58% usage (a boost of 5.4%) when those dudes are off the court, and that is backed up by an impressive 1.47 FD / 1.46 DK fantasy points per minute. Not only is his role bigger, but we have seen more Jackson minutes of late (no less than 34 in his last 3 games), and Memphis doesn’t play again until Thursday. I’d expect to have at least one Grizzly in every lineup, with Jackson being an obvious top target.

ncorfield8k: Cole Anthony – The Magic are missing half their team and most of their impact players, with Paolo Banchero, Jalen Suggs, both Wagners, and Gary Harris out. Anthony’s usage should be huge, and as long as his shots are falling anywhere close to his usual rates, he should smash his salary. He will likely be the chalkiest player on the slate, but that doesn’t mean we can’t play him in most of our GPP lineups and get different elsewhere.
