What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I prefer small-field and single-entry tournaments. This seems like a great slate to back-load lineups. The Jazz, Rockets, and Grizzlies all have key players who are listed as questionable. In order to maximize flexibility, I don’t plan on targeting many players from the first 3 games.
headChopper: With 5 of the 7 games starting within an hour of each other and some very fadeable chalk, this looks like a great spot for multi-entry GPPs in large fields. As pOWN% gets more refined closer to tip-off, I like the idea of taking the 5 players projecting for the most ownership (all currently looking like cheap value plays) and setting a rule to use a max of 1 per lineup.
Dean78904: I don’t make a ton of lineups, as I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. At the risk of oversimplifying things, I plan on leaning into the really good matchups. I expect to play at least 1 player from the Heat and Pistons in every lineup I make. The game environment in ATL/MEM is just so good that I feel obligated to dedicate 1 lineup to a stack.
ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments – The ATL/MEM game has a total north of 250 points, so I’ll be playing a lot of players from that game, both as one-offs and in full game stacks. I won’t be fading any games entirely, but I will take an underweight approach to the games right at lock, as they aren’t particularly strong and there is potential for better plays to open up with late news.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
