NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Saturday, February 7

Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?

tcsmith031: LeBron James
Krayton: LeBron James
TJ Zwarych: LeBron James

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

tcsmith031: Both single-entry and 20-max GPPs. Small forward is a particularly brutal position on DK, where we have 2 fewer games from which to choose. This is going to lead to extremely high ownership on Brandon Miller almost by default. He’s a great play, but his popularity will make some of his teammates (Kon Knueppel, LaMelo Ball, and Miles Bridges) look like solid leverage plays at what should be lower ownership. I won’t fade Miller, but I’ll gladly go cheap at SF with alternatives like Gui Santos, Kelly Oubre, and Marcus Smart in tournaments.

Krayton: I will be playing single-entry and 20-max contests. I plan on locking in both LeBron James and Jamal Murray and then seeing what players hit my lineups. Austin Reaves and Jalen Johnson will be players I will be overweight on from the more expensive side.

TJ Zwarych: I’ll be mass multi-entering in large-field GPPs, and I plan to have LeBron James and/or Austin Reaves in every single lineup. There’s enough value to get another spend-up piece in addition to those guys, with my favorites being Jalen Johnson and Jamal Murray. However, if I decide to build in the middle tier, my favorite option is LaMelo Ball, as he’s way too cheap for the minutes he’s currently playing.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
