NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Sunday, April 5

Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?

tcsmith031: LeBron James
Bobby Gomes: LeBron James
TJ Zwarych: LeBron James

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

tcsmith031: I like this slate for 20-max contests. I don’t generally go this overweight on a single team, but I think playing 4-5 Lakers is viable with Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves both out. The Lakers are just too cheap across the board for this situation, and I may have 100% exposure to LeBron James. The injuries and the roster’s lack of depth make the Lakers the clear-cut top team to target. Plus, this game against the Mavericks only has a 1.5-point spread.

Bobby Gomes: I will make 1-3 lineups for large-field tournaments and start by loading up on the Magic/Pelicans game. It boasts a close spread (ORL -4.5) with an implied total of 236.5 points. The Lakers/Mavericks game has a 232.5 implied total with a close spread as well (LAL -1.5). I will be stacking this latter game in different ways, as there is upside and value on both sides, particularly on the Lakers’ side with Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves out. LeBron James and Cooper Flagg will be in every build I make today.

TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field GPPs, and I’ll be heavily targeting the Pelicans and Lakers. I’ll likely play close to 100% Derik Queen and LeBron James, and I will differentiate my lineups elsewhere.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Epignosis
Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
