NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Sunday, May 10
Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?
tcsmith031: Jalen Brunson
Krayton: Jalen Brunson
TJ Zwarych: Jalen Brunson
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
tcsmith031: I’ll play 20-max tournaments. There are a couple of approaches to roster construction, and both are appealing. A balanced build – with guys like Jalen Brunson and Anthony Edwards as your primary spends – is a reasonable approach given the lack of stable cheap value. I’d still like to get plenty of exposure to Victor Wembanyama though, and the easiest way to jam him in is to plug in a few of his cheap teammates (e.g. Dylan Harper, Keldon Johnson, Julian Champagnie). I’ll take an underweight approach with a Sixers team at risk of elimination.
Krayton: I will be playing mostly single-entry contests and focusing on just 1 lineup. The trio I am building around includes Anthony Edwards, Jalen Brunson, and Ayo Dosunmu (especially on FD). As much as I want to get Victor Wembanyama into my lineup, I like the approach of building with the cheaper Edwards and Brunson (who are both carrying big loads for their respective teams), and it allows me to load up on the Minnesota side in a game that they really need to win. I plan to have 4 Minnesota players on FD and potentially 5 on DK.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll just be playing 1 lineup in single-entry tournaments, and I’ll be sticking with the studs who don’t break the bank as opposed to paying all the way up for someone like Victor Wembanyama. I’m going to try and jam all of Jalen Brunson, Anthony Edwards, and Joel Embiid into my lineup and then will fill out the rest with cheap and mid-range plays.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
