NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Tuesday, April 14

Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?

Notorious: LaMelo Ball
headChopper: LaMelo Ball
ncorfield8k: LaMelo Ball

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

Notorious: I prefer small-field tournaments. We have two very different slates depending on the site. On FanDuel, we don’t have a ton of cheap value to choose from, so I am looking to build more of a balanced lineup. On DraftKings, several players on the Heat feel underpriced (e.g. Norman Powell, Andrew Wiggins, Pelle Larsson). LaMelo Ball is the one player that I am locking into lineups on both sites. Kon Knueppel is my favorite fade of the slate, as he’s been held under 36 fantasy points in 9 straight games.

headChopper: I prefer single-entry and limited-entry contests on FanDuel that have small fields. On DraftKings, I’ll play 20-max contests in large fields to get to some different combinations I like. I love when the playoffs start because now we can wipe away everything you just saw for the last month of the regular season and start fresh. Most people won’t do that though. High-impact and high per-minute fantasy players are where my rosters will gravitate on slates like this because there really won’t be any funny business with minutes (barring real injuries or foul trouble). Rotations tighten up, so I’m taking advantage and sticking to guys I think will get big minutes – I am not taking chances on lower-level rotation players who might not see the floor at all.

ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments – I’ll be heavy on the Hornets, as they have a strong matchup with a Heat team that has been playing at a fast pace. This is also a great late-swap spot, as there are only 2 games, and they are sequential. The first game should be over, or close to over, before the second game starts. I’ll pay close attention to how my early players have done in each lineup when making late-swap decisions (e.g., swapping onto chalkier players if my early players have given me an advantage).

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
