What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I prefer small-field and single-entry tournaments. My biggest stands tonight are going to be locking in Donovan Mitchell and Jimmy Butler. The Cavaliers can’t afford to head to Indiana down 0-2 and have 3 of their key players listed as questionable. Mitchell had a massive 42% usage rate in Game 1. With Stephen Curry nursing a thumb injury and Game 1 being in Minnesota, I think the offense is going to run through Butler, who has a little added motivation after leaving Minnesota on a bad note.
headChopper: I am playing mostly small-field GPPs with limited entries, though I’ll sprinkle in some large-field flagship GPPs as well. My build will be centered around small-field strategy. Clearly, the Cleveland injury news is the turning point on this slate. I’ll be overweight on the Cavs regardless, but if the three key guys get ruled out before the game, I’d look to jam in the maximum possible exposure. Outside of that, the slate feels wide open. I need to see what the Cavs’ lineup looks like tonight, but I like Rudy Gobert in his matchup and think he goes underappreciated in terms of ownership.
ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments – In playoff DFS, I like to try to predict how coaches will adjust after a loss, if at all, and how rotations may change from one series to another. I’m not expecting any drastic changes from the Cavs, but I will take some shots on players in the GSW/MIN game who could benefit from a few extra minutes in a new matchup.
