What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I prefer small-field and single-entry tournaments. I’m going to lock in Luka Doncic and Aaron Wiggins. I view them as the best two plays on the board. They will both likely be chalk on FanDuel, but Wiggins could fly under the radar on DraftKings. I am also going to prioritize Stephen Curry over Jimmy Butler. Given the price difference (especially on DraftKings), most will gravitate to Butler.
headChopper: With only 2 games on the slate, I usually lean toward small-field GPPs. However, on FanDuel, I’ll also be max-entering the guaranteed overlay contest alongside my small-field builds. It’s hard to get truly different on a small slate, but one thing that stands out is how much I’m going to be fading OKC. I think this Houston defensive lineup will cause them plenty of problems. In that same game, I’m going to be overweight on Amen Thompson, Jabari Smith, and Alperen Sengun – more on that below.
ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments – These are both projected to be low-scoring games. I’ll play large game stacks and hope that one of the games can separate from the other. I’ll have a lot of Luka Doncic and Stephen Curry. And more generally, 2-game slates are the perfect time to use RotoGrinders’ NBA DFS Sims tool (SimLabs), as we will likely have all the information we need before the slate starts.
