NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Tuesday, October 27

Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?

Notorious: Luka Doncic
headChopper: Luka Doncic
ncorfield8k: Luka Doncic

How do you plan to beat the field of opponents in the tournaments you will be playing? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

Notorious: I typically shy away from potential blowouts on large slates because the risk often outweighs the potential reward. However, I think targeting the games with huge spreads could provide some dividends on this small 4-game slate. The Kings are massive underdogs against the Spurs, but I want as much exposure to Darius Acuff Jr. as I can get. He has taken at least 23 shot attempts in every game this season. We also have Precious Achiuwa projected as one of the top values on the slate. In small-field tournaments, I’m hoping the large spread will keep their ownership at bay.

headChopper: It’s a 4-game slate, and the injury news is going to drive a lot of the ownership. Sacramento is down several players they expected to be big pieces of the rotation this season, opening up a ton of minutes for Precious Achiuwa and Darius Acuff. Detroit is also without Jalen Duren, pushing Paul Reed into a starting role. Those guys are going to be popular, and I’m fine being right there with the field on most of them. Where I want to separate is the POR/LAL game. It has the highest total on the board at 233.5 with just a 1.5-point spread, yet Portland is projected to be one of the lower-owned teams on the slate. It’s also the late game, so I’ll have some flexibility to pivot if anything changes with Ausar Thompson or Isaiah Joe, who are both questionable for Detroit. On the other side, I’m happy to be underweight on the Knicks, who draw some of the worst matchups on the slate in the NBA matchup tool.

ncorfield8k: With some decent injury-related value, I’m going to be able to load up on Victor Wembanyama. Outside of playing Wemby, I’ll probably get into some game stacks. It’s just a 4-game slate, and 2 of the games have wide spreads. But if the Kings can keep it close enough that starters play at least half the 4th quarter, the SAC/SAS game could really separate.

Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
