NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, May 6

Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?

Notorious: Tyrese Maxey
ncorfield8k: Tyrese Maxey
tcsmith031: Jalen Brunson

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

Notorious: I prefer small-field tournaments. This strategy didn’t work on Monday, but I am once again going to load up on the first game (PHI/NYK) and hope the second game (MIN/SAS) turns into a blowout. This strategy is a bit more risky now that Joel Embiid is out, but there are actually better plays on the Sixers now, so I call that a wash. If the Sixers can keep this game competitive and if the Spurs can bounce back in a big way at home, my lineups will be in a great position to win small-field tournaments.

ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments – I’ll have a heavy amount of the PHI/NYK game. Joel Embiid’s absence is obviously great for the value on the Sixers, and it makes the Knicks slightly better, as Embiid is the best post defender on the Sixers. The Wolves are difficult to play since both Anthony Edwards and Ayo Dosunmu are back (but limited). With that said, I’ll be looking for players who are getting overlooked, with some uncertainty in their roles. Currently, that’s looking like Terrence Shannon Jr.

tcsmith031: I’ll be playing single-entry and 20-max tournaments. I’m a little concerned that things could go south for the T-Wolves after their big win in Game 1, so I’d rather lean into the slate’s other 3 teams. It’s not the safest path, but I like the idea of a stars-and-scrubs approach, jamming at least 3 of Jalen Brunson, Victor Wembanyama, Tyrese Maxey, and Karl-Anthony Towns into tournament builds. It requires some risky dives (e.g. Miles McBride, Keldon Johnson), but I think that’s a high-ceiling approach to tournaments.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
