What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I prefer small-field and single-entry contests. My plan of attack tonight is to avoid the superstars priced above $10,000. I’d rather save some salary and take my chances with the likes of Tyrese Haliburton, Pascal Siakam, and Anthony Edwards.
headChopper: Multiple lineups in large-field flagship GPPs is my preferred game type tonight. I like attacking the good players who didn’t perform well in Game 1. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander didn’t do much fantasy-wise because they didn’t need him, and Luka Doncic and LeBron James just got whipped by the Timberwolves. Partly because of those subpar performances, early projected ownership has these guys coming in lower than usual. I’ll gladly take a crack at each of them in multiple lineups, and that alone should be enough to get me different from the field.
ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments – There are a lot of great mid-range options on the slate, and most of my lineups will be balanced. But there are also some intriguing value plays that could see more run than they saw in their respective Game 1s if the games play out differently (Scotty Pippen, Donte DiVincenzo, others), so I’ll be sure to mix in some stars-and-scrubs lineups. I like Luka Doncic as a contrarian pay-up option in those lineups.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
