NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, December 1

Which useful trend or statistic stuck out most during your research?

Notorious: I owe everyone an apology. Here were my exact words in the intro to the Core Plays article this morning: “I don’t want to jinx it, but we don’t have a ton of injuries to monitor early in the day.” Since then, Luka Doncic, Victor Wembanyama, and Devin Booker have all been ruled out. And now Julius Randle is questionable. This is shaping up to be a wild slate and one where the stars-and-scrubs approach has more appeal than usual.

squirrelpatrol: Dallas should draw a lot of attention tonight with Luka Doncic out and them still being 6.5-point favorites at home against Memphis. Kyrie Irving will certainly be popular, averaging 1.47 DK points per minute with Luka off the court this season, but Dereck Lively, Tim Hardaway, Josh Green, and Grant Williams all get big bumps in projection.

eys819: Kevin Durant (with Devin Booker and Bradley Beal out) and Kyrie Irving (with Luka Doncic out) are two of the best plays of the season. Victor Wembanyama will also miss the first game of his NBA career, and it seems likely the Spurs value will go overlooked compared to Mavericks and Suns.

tcsmith031: Tim Hardaway has enjoyed a big usage bump (+7%) this season with Luka Doncic off the floor, while Kyrie Irving has only seen a nominal 0.6% boost. The absences of Doncic and Dante Exum could open up some minutes for Jaden Hardy, who’s been quite productive (28% usage, 1.09 FP/minute) with Luka on the bench so far this season.

Bobby Gomes: With 6 games, I am seeing that only 3 of the 12 teams are top 8 in pace, and 2 of them are huge underdogs (Spurs +13; Wizards +11). While pace is vital in games I target, the blowout factor is real. I don’t want to have to guess which players on the end of both benches will fill in garbage-time minutes. Despite DEN/PHX and NYK/TOR playing at 4 of the 5 slowest paces in the league, these 2 games have the closest spreads, and I can pluck pieces from both games. With Devin Booker out, that will free us up some value, and we’ll need it if we’re paying up for someone like Nikola Jokic.

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
