NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, February 23

Who is your top contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Notorious: Jimmy Butler – He hasn’t garnered much ownership all season, and I doubt that changes tonight. With a lot of superstars listed as questionable, he’ll likely come in at even lower ownership than we currently have him projected for. The Heat are one of the few teams not playing in the second half of a back-to-back, and Butler played some of his best basketball before the break, topping 40 fantasy points in 5 of his last 6 games.

squirrelpatrol: Jalen Williams – The WAS/OKC game has a high total but a large 16-point spread that might keep ownership on the Thunder players lower than it should. Jalen Williams could post an outstanding game even if he misses some time if the game gets out of hand against a Wizards team, allowing the most points, rebounds, and assists per game in the NBA this season. Wiliams is averaging 23.6 points, 6.0 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game in February and comes at a nice discount to his more expensive teammate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

eys819: Brandon Ingram – The matchup is not ideal against the Heat, but there is plenty of upside if Zion ends up sitting. Ingram probably isn’t that contrarian if we end up getting the Zion news before lock, but he would be far less owned than he should be if the news comes just after lock. Ingram has posted a 32.2% usage rate (+4.5%) and 32.7% assist rate (+6.6%) with Zion off the floor this season.

Bobby Gomes: Scottie Barnes – I indicated earlier that the TOR/ATL game has the highest total. Barnes is coming in around 10-15% pOWN%, depending on the site, and has an affordable price tag. He has been the focal point within the Raptors offense and is also getting it done on both ends of the floor. His 25% usage rate combined with 35 minutes a night has made him a sneaky upside play all season. He’ll get a bottom-of-the-barrel Hawks defense tonight in a pace-up spot.

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
