NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, October 27

Which useful trend or statistic stuck out most during your research?

Notorious: Based on preseason numbers, Rockets-Spurs projects to be one of the fastest-paced games on the slate. The Rockets struggled mightily in their opener against the Magic, but this game features a spread of only 1.5 points. The projections love the Rockets in this spot, and there are a number of plays from the Spurs that I want to be overweight on. This is my favorite game to stack.

meansy53: The days of 40-minute games from the Raptors’ core players may be a thing of the past now that Nick Nurse is in Philly. In their game on Wednesday that came down to the wire, Pascal Siakam played ‘only’ 34 minutes, and that was without any foul trouble either. OG Anunoby also played 34 minutes, although it is worth noting that Scottie Barnes got up to 37 minutes. With Dennis Schroder being quite the rates hog in his first Toronto game (26% usage rate, 41.8% assist rate), the departure of Fred VanVleet during the offseason is not enough to counteract a lower minutes expectation for someone like Siakam, as long as his price remains this high ($9,500 on DK).

squirrelpatrol: The Sacramento Kings have the highest implied point total on the slate (120.0), are playing at home in the highest-point-total game of the night, and don’t have a player in the top 20 for projected ownership on either site.

eys819: Cam Thomas dropped 36 actual points in just 25 minutes in the opener against one of the top defenses in the NBA. He posted an insane 45% usage rate, taking 21 shots in those 25 minutes. Today, Cam Johnson popped up on the injury report as questionable, and Brooklyn gets a much softer matchup against Dallas. I certainly do not expect the 45% usage to sustain, but we saw Thomas score in bunches often last season. He is on my radar as a tournament option, especially if Johnson were to miss this game.

Bobby Gomes: Day’Ron Sharpe has shown massive upside in scoring, rebounding, and +/- in limited minutes. The former Top-15 recruit should start tonight for the injured Nic Claxton and is essentially a free square on DK ($3,300), barring foul trouble. A double-double is forthcoming.

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
